The following information is from Atherton and Menlo Park police departments and the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Under the law, people charged with an offense are considered innocent until convicted.
ATHERTON
Battery: Two female students at Menlo-Atherton High School allegedly fought in the bleachers during lunch March 5. One girl reportedly suffered head injuries and was treated by the school nurse.
Confiscated weapon: Knife confiscated March 2 from two male students at Menlo-Atherton High School, and the case has been transferred to the district attorney for review.
Residential burglary: A resident in the 100 block of El Camino Real reported Feb. 28 his bedroom had been ransacked, a watch stolen and a window screen kicked out.
Theft:
**Menlo College on El Camino Real: Watch reportedly stolen March 1, and debit card reportedly stolen from a dormitory room March 4.
**Menlo School on Valparaiso Avenue: Wallet and car keys reportedly stolen from a locker room March 4.
Mail theft: Outgoing mail reportedly stolen Feb. 20 in the 100 block of Fair Oaks Avenue.
Vandalism:
**The first block of Flood Circle: Sculpture reportedly covered in white paint and ketchup March 1.
**Menlo College on El Camino Real: Mailboxes reportedly vandalized in the Student Union March 2.
Vehicle burglary: Window reportedly smashed and wallet stolen at Menlo-Atherton High School March 1.
Vehicle theft: Cellular phones were reported stolen at the following locations:
**The first block of Ashfield Road on Feb. 28.
**The first block of Selby Lane on March 2.
Vehicle vandalism:
**The first block of Selby Lane: Two cars reportedly covered in green and yellow paint March 1.
**El Camino Real and Lloyden Drive: Flashlight reportedly thrown at moving car March 3.
MENLO PARK
Child endangerment: Kelly Lynn Linville, 36, of Menlo Park, was arrested Feb. 26 on charges of child endangerment after allegedly leaving her 5-month-old daughter alone in their apartment. The infant was turned over to the Child Protective Services, and the mother was booked into county jail.
Battery: A 13-year-old boy at Menlo Oaks School was released to his mother Feb. 27 after assaulting a teacher.
Evading arrest: An officer reported March 4 attempting to stop a car for a traffic violation in the 1300 block of Willow Road when the driver fled on foot.
Injury accidents:
**El Camino Real and Encinal Avenue: Two people were taken to the hospital after a three-car collision March 3.
**El Camino Real and Oak Grove Avenue: One person was taken to the hospital after a three-car collision March 3.
Drunken driving: Sandra Thompson, 39, of Hayward, was arrested March 5 at Newbridge Street and Carlton Avenue on charges of driving under the influence. She was booked into county jail.
Residential burglary:
**The 1900 block of Byers Drive: A resident reported Feb. 26 coming home as someone climbed out of his bathroom window and fled over the back fence. The resident's bedroom had been ransacked, but nothing was reported stolen.
**The 1100 block of Hamilton Court: Television reportedly stolen from a trailer March 4.
**The 1000 block of Ringwood Avenue: A resident reported March 5 interrupting two men trying to pry open his window.
Attempted residential burglary: A resident in the 150 block of San Mateo Drive reported Feb. 27 that someone tried to kick open his front door and damaged the frame.
Commercial burglary: Footsteps School on Willow Road reported March 2 that someone had pried open the lock on a storage shed, broken into the playhouse and vandalized the playground equipment.
Petty theft:
**The 600 block of Woodland Drive: Leaf blower and string trimmer reportedly stolen Feb. 26.
**The 1100 block O'Brien Drive: battery reportedly stolen Feb. 26 from a Gachina Landscaping dump truck.
**The 1100 block of Willow Road: Purse reportedly stolen March 4.
Stolen vehicles:
**Oldsmobile reportedly stolen Feb. 28 in the 800 block of Pierce Road was located a few hours later at Oakwood Drive and Bay Road in East Palo Alto.
**Stolen jeep located in the 1100 block of Sevier Avenue March 1.
Vehicle burglary:
**Stereos were reported stolen in the 100 block of Constitution Drive on Feb. 26 and in the 1400 block of Modoc Avenue on March 6.
**The 100 block of Jefferson Drive: Cellular phone reportedly stolen March 1.
**Jefferson and Chrysler drives: Several computers, boxes of tools and one palate of toner reported stolen March 3 from a Viking Freight truck.
**The 1300 block of Hollyburne Avenue: Wallet reportedly stolen March 4.
**The 1300 block of O'Brien Drive: $3 in cash reportedly stolen March 6.
Attempted vehicle burglary: Window reportedly smashed and attempt made to remove stereo March 3 in the 1300 block of O'Brien Drive.
Possession of stolen property: Samuel Moore, 21, of East Palo Alto, was arrested March 4 on charges of possession of a stolen cellular phone. He was booked into county jail.
Vandalism:
**The 200 block of Hamilton Avenue: Brick reportedly thrown through front window Feb. 28.
**The 1300 block of Windermere Avenue: Window and screen reportedly removed Feb. 27, but no entry made.
**Ronnie Dale Betts, 41, of Menlo Park, was arrested March 1 in the 1100 block of Ringwood Avenue after he allegedly kicked down a resident's door. He was also charged with possession of a controlled substance and was booked into county jail.
Possible forgery: A Florida resident reported March 4 that someone used her driver's license number for a parking ticket in June.
PORTOLA VALLEY
Injury accident: Two people were reportedly injured in a two-car collision March 2 on Westridge Drive near Dos Loma Vista Lane.
WOODSIDE
Residential burglary: A resident in the 100 block of Brookwood Road reported Feb. 26 that a floor safe containing jewelry estimated to be worth $20,000 was stolen from a locked walk-in closet.
Theft:
**The 300 block of Olive Hill Road: Resident reported Feb. 26 that his credit card numbers were used by an unknown person to make purchases in Texas.
**The 1400 block of Portola Road: Jewelry reportedly stolen March 1 from a dresser top.
Vandalism:
**The 200 block of Mountain Wood Lane: Clay pot reportedly thrown through a stained glass window Feb. 27.
**Woodside Elementary School on Woodside Road: Someone reportedly drove over the baseball field and damaged the grass Feb. 27.
Counterfeit money: Roberts Hardware reported receiving a fake $100 bill March 2.
