Open space district meeting on controlling wild pigs Open space district meeting on controlling wild pigs (February 21, 2001)

As feral pigs root their way up Skyline, the Mid Peninsula Regional Open Space District is planning to continue its control program for a second year.

The board will hold a special meeting Wednesday, February 21, to review last year's program and hire Land Management and Resource Company for another year. It also plans to authorize a scientific study of the environmental impacts of the encroaching pigs.

Last year, the contractor trapped and removed 68 pigs from Long Ridge Open Space Preserve.

The meeting starts at 7:30 p.m. at district headquarters, 330 Distel Circle, in Los Altos.
