Real estate manager

Bob Stelzer of Menlo Park has been appointed manager of Coldwell Banker's San Mateo north office, which has 70 agents. Previously he was a Coldwell Banker managing broker in Los Altos.

Mr. Stelzer, who began his real estate sales career in 1985, was named Realtor of the Year by the Palo Alto Board of Realtors, was state director of the California Association of Realtors, and sat on the board of directors of the Silicon Valley Association of Realtors.

He serves as chairman of the San Mateo County Committee for School District Organization, and lives in Menlo Park with his wife Kathleen and their children, Jordan and Samantha.

Home sales associate

Trina Dean of Menlo Park recently joined the Longaberger Co. of Newark, Ohio, as an independent sales associate. The more than 70,000 sales associates sell the Longaberger products, including baskets, fabric liners, hard wood dividers, and wrought iron products, through home shows. Longaberger is the 18th largest woman-owned company in the country, according to Working Woman Magazine.
Portola Valley

Sue and Don Bennett have joined the Portola Valley sales team of Coldwell Banker Northern California.

The Bennetts have been married for 35 years, have two children, and have lived in Portola Valley for 25 years. Mrs. Bennett is a graduate of UC Davis and formerly worked with Cornish & Carey as a sales associate.

Mr. Bennett is a graduate of UC Davis with an MBA from Stanford University. Before joining Coldwell Banker, he was vice president of operations for Innovacom Inc. in Santa Clara.

The Portola Valley office of Coldwell Banker is located at 116 Portola Road.
New board members

Two new members have been named to the board of BUILD (Businesses United in Investing, Lending and Development), a youth entrepreneurship network located on the border of East Palo Alto and Menlo Park.

Steve Anderson of Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, a venture capital firm based in Menlo Park, and James J. Davis Jr. of Alaska Legal Services Corp., have been named to the board.

Mr. Anderson has been an associate partner with Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers since 1999.

"BUILD is a program that is breaking new ground by teaching students valuable leadership and business skills that will help them as they prepare for college," says Mr. Anderson.
Venture Law Group

John Sellers was promoted from senior attorney to director in the Menlo Park office of Venture Law Group, a law firm representing technology companies. Mr. Sellers specializes in corporate and securities law. A Stanford graduate, he served as a senior legislative assistant to Congressman Tom Campbell, specializing in environmental issues and foreign affairs.
Knowledge Networks

John J. Lewis has been named president and chief executive officer of Knowledge Networks, a Menlo Park company that provides consumer research information over the Internet. Mr. Lewis was executive vice president at ACNielsen from 1994 to 1999. Most recently he was CEO of SMS Technology, a venture-backed startup that supplied technology to the consumer package goods industry.
