Woman kidnapped at gunpoint near Woodside on Monday Woman kidnapped at gunpoint near Woodside on Monday (June 19, 2002)

A San Mateo woman was allegedly kidnapped at gunpoint by her ex-husband Monday morning near Woodside.

Nancy Brayer, 30, of San Mateo was taken by her ex-husband at gunpoint from the 1400 block of Bear Gulch Road, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office reported.

The suspect, Kenneth Watson, is a parolee from the California Department of Corrections, and authorities consider him dangerous, said the Officer Bronwyn Hogan of the Sheriff's Office. His last known address was in San Mateo, she said.

Mr. Watson is 31 years old, 6 feet tall, and weighs about 185 pounds; he has brown eyes, black or shaved hair, a dark complexion, and is of African-American descent, said Officer Hogan. Ms. Brayer is white, but further details were unavailable, she added.

Deputies responded to a report of a domestic dispute at a residence in rural, unincorporated San Mateo County at approximately 10:45 a.m. Monday, according to the Sheriff's Office. There were two witnesses, Officer Hogan said.

Mr. Watson and Ms. Brayer drove away in her vehicle, described as a turquoise-blue 1998 BMW 5 series, license plate 4RRH400, the Sheriff's Office reported.

The suspect eluded authorities in pursuit, according to Officer Hogan. Their location was not available.

A handgun, which the suspect threw from the vehicle, was recovered, but "he could have another weapon," said Officer Hogan.

The Sheriff's Office requests that anyone with information call 363-4051.
