Fashion designer sale at Canada College Fashion designer sale at Canada College (October 22, 2003)

More than 65 designers will take part in "Artistry in Fashion," the 12th annual designer sale on Saturday, October 25, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Canada College, 4200 Farm Hill Blvd. in Woodside.

The sale, sponsored by the college's fashion design department, raises funds for student scholarships, library materials and classroom equipment. It takes place in the student activities center.

"Artistry in Fashion" showcases established professional designers, as well as emerging designers, including some students in the Canada design department. It offers shoppers a chance to meet and talk with professional designers as well as purchase fashion pieces, including clothing, jewelry, accessories, textiles, knitwear and wearable art. Prices range from wholesale to regular retail, depending on the designer and the items.

Local designers taking part in the show are Karin Moggridge of Woodside whose line, Karin M. Fibers, includes kimonos, jackets, shawls and scarves; and Aleena Paras-Kopecky and Demetra Paras of Portola Valley, who will display their jewelry.

There is a $5 admission charge at the door; parking is free. For more information, call Ronda Chaney, program coordinator, at 306-3370, or go to www.artistryinfashion.com.
