It's showtime in Woodside again. After an 11-year hiatus, members of the Woodside Community Theatre are back on the boards with their production of "Annie Get Your Gun."

The Irving Berlin musical opens Thursday, November 6, in the George Sellman Auditorium at Woodside Elementary School. The auditorium is named for the former Woodside School superintendent who directed the Woodside Community Theatre Company in Broadway musicals for more than 30 years.

More than 100 community members are volunteering to work on the show, including tech workers, musicians, costumers, set builders and stage hands, as well as actors and singers.

The musical will be dedicated to the late Hanna Wenrick, who starred in many community theater productions, and is remembered for roles such as Bloody Mary in South Pacific and Auntie Mame in "Mame." Her son, David, is taking part in the "Annie Get Your Gun" production.

"Annie Get Your Gun" will feature more than 50 local actors and singers performing such memorable songs as "There's No Business Like Show Business," "You Can't Get a Man with a Gun," and "They Say Falling in Love is Wonderful."

The producers are Mark and Mindy Bowles and Donna Losey.

Elena Mori is directing the show; Ruthanne Smith is vocal director. The show orchestra will be led by Richard Gordon.

Annie Oakley's six brothers and sisters have been double-cast, so a dozen youngsters, some as young as 4, will perform with the adults.
