Report on conductive education Report on conductive education (December 17, 2003)

Ursula Miller of Woodside says CBS television's "60 Minutes II" has "tentatively" scheduled a report on conductive education at 8 p.m. Wednesday, December 17.

The report will focus on the Inter-American Conduction Education Association, which was founded in 1992 and consists of professionals and parents of people with cerebral palsy and other neurological disabilities.

Ms. Miller founded Peninsula Outreach Programs in 1993. Its original mission was to provide assistance to the family of a little girl with cerebral palsy. Through the child and her family's effort to help her, Ms. Miller became interested in the Conductive Education Program, a system of special education designed to allow children with disabilities to function more independently.

Through an annual golf tournament and an annual black-tie benefit and auction, POPS has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for conductive education.
