No injuries in Menlo garage fire
No injuries in Menlo garage fire
(December 17, 2003) Firefighters saved the home at 2422 Sharon Oaks Drive in Menlo Park, but little was left of the garage after it burned late Saturday afternoon, December 13.
No one was at home at the time of the incident and there were no injuries. Damage was estimated at $300,000.
About 34 firefighters fought the two-alarm fire, including personnel from the Menlo Park and Woodside fire protection districts and the Redwood City Fire Department, said Captain Bob Gilmore of the Menlo Park district.
Sheet rock on the walls adjoining the garage shielded the house from the fire, but smoke damage has made it uninhabitable, said Acting Battalion Chief Glenn Grant of the Menlo Park district.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, Mr. Grant said.
