Artful exhibit Artful exhibit (January 28, 2004)

Caption with art in print edition: "Boy watching loving sisters" is among 10 monotypes by Atherton artist Arthur Krakower on display at Cafe Borrone in Menlo Center, 1010 El Camino Real, in Menlo Park through February 29. The monotypes, one-of-a-kind prints, come from Mr. Krakower's "Silence of memory" series, which draws upon images from his boyhood in New York in the 1930s. Although he has painted all his life, Mr. Krakower began pursuing his career as an artist only after retiring from real estate and department store merchandising. His work has appeared in 13 group shows and three solo exhibitions in the past six years.
