The polls are open for the presidential primary Tuesday, March 2, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Check your official sample ballot and voter information pamphlet for the location of your polling place.

For election information, including on candidates and ballot propositions, check the San Mateo County Elections Office Web site: www.shapethefuture.org and the League of Women Voter's site, www.smartvoter.org.

The number of registered voters in the county is 330,179, an increase of 14,991 since the 2000 presidential primary election, said Warren Slocum, the county's chief elections officer.
