Free compost workshop planned
Dying to know what to do with those old food scraps, other than buying a pet pig? One option is to turn scraps and other organic materials such as yard trimmings into the soil additive known as compost.
A free workshop on composting is planned for Saturday, March 13, from 8 a.m. to noon at the Menlo Park Library at 800 Alma St. Open to all San Mateo County residents, the event will include a demonstration of the use of a composting bin.
Reservations are encouraged; call 1-888-442-2666 or email info@recycleworks.org.
