The Bay Area Quiz Kids competition, which began with 42 Bay Area high schools, is now down to the final four and Atherton's Menlo School is among them.
The Menlo School team -- made up of students Stephen Chait (captain), Nicholas Joy, Ethan Dreyfuss and Jeremy Gessow (alternate) -- which was scheduled to face Half Moon Bay at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, March 20, in a Peninsula TV (Channel 26) studio in San Carlos, will be competing at 12:15 p.m. on March 27 instead due to a power outage on March 20. Art Squillante is the coach.
The Harker School of San Jose and Mountain View faced off on March 20 and the Harker School was triumphant. The winner of the Menlo School match will go head-to-head with Harker in the championship at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, March 27. They will be competing for an all-expense-paid trip to Europe.
People are invited to be part of the studio audience; space will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis. The Peninsula TV-26 studio is at 1250 San Carlos Ave. in San Carlos. For a taping schedule or more information, call 637-1936.
