Rain or shine the Woodside Recreation Committee's 13th annual May Day Fun Run & Walk is set to go from the Woodside Library at 8:30 a.m. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. on the front steps at 3140 Woodside Road.

The 2.25-mile race winds along Albion Avenue to Olive Hill Lane and back, ending before the 10 a.m. May Day Parade. Woodside Road will be closed to traffic at 9:30 a.m. on the stretch between Roberts Market and the elementary school.

Muffins, fruit, refreshments, and T-shirts go to all registered participants. Medals and ribbons will also be awarded in each age group. The registration fee is $12 for adults and $10 for children 14 and under.

Meanwhile, right next door from 8 to 10 a.m., the Rotary Club of Woodside/Portola Valley will be serving up pancakes, bacon, and sausage.

Registration for the 82nd annual May Day parade starts at 9 a.m. across the street at the elementary school, 3195 Woodside Road.

At 11:15 a.m., Woodside School's third graders are scheduled to do a traditional May Pole and sword dance at the amphitheater.

The Citizen of the Year Award will then be presented, followed by a noontime barbecue and carnival, which ends at 3 p.m. All events are open to the public.
