The Atherton City Council is set to discuss the town's budget for the upcoming fiscal year at a special meeting starting at 6 p.m. Monday, June 14.

The council has scheduled a public hearing on a renewal of the parcel tax measure at its regularly scheduled meeting, beginning at 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 16.

As in many other California cities, Atherton officials are grappling with shortfalls in funding, largely due to the state's takeaways to shore up its own budget.
