Conference gives update on Alzheimer's
(June 09, 2004) The latest research on Alzheimer's disease and related types of dementia will be the topic of the sixth annual "Updates on Dementia" conference, scheduled for Wednesday, June 16, at Stanford University Medical Center's Fairchild Auditorium.
Dr. William Mobley, professor and chair of the Department of Neurology and Neurological Sciences at Stanford, is scheduled to give the keynote speech, called "Emerging Themes in Alzheimer's Research." Topics for panel discussion will include sleep problems and dementia, aging and Alzheimer's disease, and ways to reduce stress for caregivers.
Registration is scheduled for 7 a.m., with the program from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The fee is $60, with Department of Veterans Affairs employees and V.A. retirees paying $40. Seniors and students pay $15.
