A community reception honoring the Woodside Village Church's senior pastor, the Rev. Robert Hammerton-Kelly, and his wife Rosemary for their ministry is set for Sunday, June 13, at approximately 11:45 a.m., following the 10 a.m. worship service at the church, 3154 Woodside Road, Woodside.

Refreshments will be served in the Grace Mortsolf Memorial Courtyard and the Woodside Village Church Choir and a group of musicians will perform madrigals and popular music.

The Rev. Hammerton-Kelly is retiring after 40 years in the ministry, with the last eight as senior pastor at the Village Church. The author of seven books, he has taught religion and classics as a professor and lecturer, most recently at Stanford University.

He founded the "Woodside Forum," a community-outreach program bringing distinguished speakers from around the world to discuss everything from political and military topics to bioethical and cultural issues.
