Harrell-Benson
Iris Harrell and Ann Benson were married February 15 at City Hall in San Francisco. They also celebrated their 25th anniversary as a couple on May 12.
Ms. Harrell is the oldest daughter of Evelyn and Alton Harrell of Virginia. Ms. Benson is the only daughter of Jane and W.R. Benson of Dallas, Texas.
The couple met in Texas in 1979 and moved to Menlo Park in 1984. They founded Harrell Remodeling Inc., a residential design/build company, which operated in Menlo Park for many years before moving to Mountain View. The company, which has won numerous business and residential awards over the past 20 years, now has 44 employees.
Before they founded Harrell Remodeling, Ms. Harrell was a school teacher and fulltime musician. Ms. Benson was a librarian and computer systems analyst.
The newlyweds, who live in Portola Valley, are involved in community service activities, including Habitat for Humanity and the Girl Scouts of America. They play golf on the Monterey Peninsula in their leisure time.
Zimmerman-McDonald
Lisa Elaine Zimmerman and Christopher G. McDonald were married April 17 in an outdoor ceremony in an amphitheater in Shasta Trinity National Forest. A reception was held at Antlers Resort Lodge.
The bride, who grew up in Ladera, is the adopted daughter of the late Nedra and Chris Zimmerman. Her natural father is James Edwards of Kentucky.
Lisa attended Holy Cross and Crystal Springs schools. She is a pet caregiver and self-employed at Lisa Elaine's Pet Sitting in Menlo Park.
The bridegroom graduated from St. Francis High School in Mountain View. Son of the late Joyce and Hugh R. McDonald, he is retired from the U.S. Air Force.
The bride was given in marriage by her half-brother, Rocky J. Edwards. Kathy Dunham was matron of honor. Joyce Cadwalader was maid of honor and Tiffany Hammon was a bridesmaid. Heather McDonald was flower girl and Cameron McDonald was ring bearer. Hugh McDonald stood as best man. Ron Langlitz and Rocky J. Edwards were ushers.
The newlyweds are living in Redwood City and plan to make their future home in the Redding area of Northern California.
