This information is from the Atherton and Menlo Park police departments and the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Under the law, people charged with offenses are considered innocent until convicted.

Menlo Park

Spousal abuse: Valdemar Valencia Gonzalez, 23, of Menlo Park was arrested in the 1200 block of Sevier Avenue and booked into county jail at 2:50 p.m. on June 7.

Fraud: False identification to open a credit card account, 1100 block of Pine Street, June 4. Unauthorized use of credit card, 600 block of Oak Grove Avenue, June 4.
Use of fictitious checks, 800 block of Cambridge Avenue, June 6.
False identity used to open a telephone account, 1900 block of Menalto Avenue, June 7.
Counterfeit $100 bill passed at a liquor store, 1300 block of Carlton Avenue, June 7.
Fraudulent use of a credit card, 200 block of Chester Street, June 9.
False identification given to a police officer, Ringwood Avenue and Middlefield Road, June 10. Internet fraud, 100 block of Constitution Drive, June 10.

Assault: Eli Campbell, 28, Menlo Park was convicted on charges of assault with a deadly weapon near Adams Drive and O'Brien Drive at 7:35 a.m. on June 10 and booked into county jail.

Burglaries:

** Someone broke into a storage locker in the 1100 block of Merrill Street on June 4.

** Someone entered a residence in the 400 block of Market Place at 10:25 a.m. on June 10, but fled upon discovering that the residence was occupied.

** Tools were reported stolen June 10 from a garage in the 200 block of Market Place.

Grand theft:

** A set of golf clubs were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 100 block of Laurel Avenue on June 6.

** A laptop computer was reported stolen from the 400 block of Ivy Drive on June 10.

Woodside

Burglary:

** Someone reported on May 31 that a vacant residence was burglarized in the 100 block of Ranch Road.

** A locked office was burglarized and a laptop computer stolen at Canada College, June 2.

Portola Valley

Assault: A teen-aged girl was cited on charges of assaulting her mother in the 100 block of Fawn Lane on June 5 and booked into Hillcrest juvenile hall.

Domestic violence: A female resident of the 800 block of Westridge Drive said that on June 6 her boyfriend cut her hair with a kitchen knife, lacerating her ear, and then cut the telephone lines and fled.

West Menlo Park

Burglary: Someone broke into an office and vandalized a table in the 2100 block of Gordon Avenue on June 6.
