Howell-Walte
Caitlyn Brown Howell and Charles Walte IV were married June 26 at the Shogren House Museum in Portland, Oregon.
The bride is the daughter of James and Penny Howell of Atherton. She graduated from Castilleja School and received a bachelor's degree from Yale University in archaeology. She earned a master's degree in museum studies from George Washington University.
The bride is membership coordinator of the Xerces Society and editor of "Wings: Essays on Conservation," its publication.
The bridegroom, who goes by the name Chance, is the son of Martha Chance Walte of Naples, Florida, and Charles Walte III of Bloomingdale, Illinois. He has studied construction and repair of stringed instruments in British Columbia and St. Louis. He specializes in electric basses and guitars and is also a music instructor. This fall he plans to open a music store and studio.
The couple met on Valentine's Day 2003, when they joined her parents and his mother on a trip to Antarctica.
Beth Strasburger of Portland was maid of honor, and the best man was Marcus Morgan of Dallas, Texas.
Following a honeymoon in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the couple is living in Portland.
