Two boys robbed -- twice -- on Willow Road Two boys robbed -- twice -- on Willow Road (September 22, 2004)

It was a rough night for two kids on Willow Road in Menlo Park last Saturday: They were robbed at gunpoint twice, in the space of a few minutes.

At about 11:30 p.m., a man robbed the two boys at gunpoint while the boys were sitting in a car, taking cash, keys and other property, said Sgt. Mike Amaral of the Menlo Park Police Department. The robber fled west on Willow Road in a white late-model Chevrolet Malibu, with several passengers in the car.

A few minutes later, the boys were robbed a second time, this time by a young man who got out of an SUV and pointed a black gun --later determined to be an air pistol -- at one boy's chest, and stole his baseball cap, said Menlo Park Police Officer Scott Mackdanz.

The boys called 9-1-1. Menlo Park Police stopped an SUV matching the description given by the victims and found the boy's cap, Officer Mackdanz said. The victims identified all three occupants of the vehicle as having been involved in the robbery.

A 14-year-old girl -- the driver-- is charged with robbery, vehicle theft and driving while unlicensed, Officer Mackdanz said. A 16-year-old male is charged with robbery. Terry Pigs, 18, of East Palo Alto, was booked into county jail on charges of conspiracy and robbery.

The suspect in the first robbery is still at large. Police describe him as African-American, 18 to 22 years old with a thin build, and at least 6 feet tall. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the police department at 330-6300.
