Police seek man who tried to lure little girl
(September 22, 2004) Menlo Park police are seeking a man who they say tried to get a 6-year-old girl to leave school with him on September 17.
The man reportedly approached the girl around 3 p.m. while she was waiting for a family member to pick her up from Willow Oaks School at 620 Willow Road, said Watch Cmdr. Kevin Paugh of the Menlo Park Police Department.
The man said a relative was waiting for her at the front entrance to the parking lot, and told her to come with him, Watch Cmdr. Paugh said.
The girl walked with him to the parking lot, but became suspicious when she saw no relative and ran back into the school, Watch Cmdr. Paugh said. School officials called the police.
The man is described as a thin Hispanic man in his 20s, about 5 feet 4 inches tall, with curly shoulder-length brown hair. Police say he was wearing a brown shirt and dark brown pants.
Anyone with information regarding the case is asked to call Menlo Park police at 330-6300.
