Election 2004: Sequoia Healthcare District candidate forum Thursday Election 2004: Sequoia Healthcare District candidate forum Thursday (September 29, 2004)

A forum with candidates for the Sequoia Healthcare District board, which helps oversee Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City and controls more than $60 million of publicly owned assets, is set for Thursday, September 30, from 1 to 2:30 p.m., in Redwood City.

Sponsored by the League of Women Voters, the forum will be videotaped and shown by Peninsula TV several times before the election, said league spokeswoman Linda Craig.

The public is welcome, "but we will not be taking questions from the audience," Ms. Craig said.

Candidates will have time for opening and closing statements, and will be asked to respond to questions from the league moderator.

Four candidates are running for two four-year terms on the board: incumbents Kathleen Kane and Malcolm MacNaughton, and challengers Sonya Sigler and Warren Gibson.

The forum will be held in the Board of Supervisors Chambers, Hall of Justice and Records, 400 County Center, at the corner of Bradford and Hamilton streets, in Redwood City.
