More flu shots available soon More flu shots available soon (December 22, 2004)

The pool of people eligible for a flu shot in San Mateo County is expanding.

County health officials are holding six flu-shot clinics on January 5, opening them up to all adults ages 50 and older and certain other adults ages 18 and older: emergency services workers and close contacts of people in high-risk groups, such as the elderly. Nursing-home residents and health care workers involved with direct patient care are also eligible.

South County clinics are scheduled for 9 to 10:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Church at 3500 Middlefield Road and 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Fair Oaks Senior Center at 2600 Middlefield Road, both in the Redwood City area. A donation of $5 is suggested.
