Finding poetry in a haircut
(January 26, 2005) Caption with picture in print edition: When Philip Meyerson, left, sat down in Menlo Park resident Tony Nicosia's barbershop chair at Charleston Barbers in Palo Alto last year, he got more than a trim. Mr. Meyerson, a poet, and Mr. Nicosia, a photographer who focuses on nature and landscape scenes, agreed to create a book. Published earlier this year, "Impressions" includes images of woodpeckers nesting near the Stanford Dish, the San Mateo County coastside at sunset, and aspens in the Sierras, which Mr. Nicosia calls his "other home." It's sold locally at Kepler's Books.
