Castilleja benefit is 'One For The Girls'
(March 23, 2005) Castilleja School's annual auction benefit -- "This One's For the Girls!" -- will take place Saturday, April 2, at the Palo Alto school, which will become the Five-C Ranch for a country-and-western themed evening, with silent and live auctions, dinner and line dancing.
Castilleja School parents and supporters will put on their bibs and tuckers for a chance to bid on such items as a two-day resort package at Golf Magazine's highest-rated course, Oregon's Bandon Dunes; a private dinner for 10 in the San Francisco Conservatory of Flowers; an evening of poker in Las Vegas with world champion player Howard Lederer; and "Breakfast at Tiffany's," a private catered event for 50 at Palo Alto's Tiffany & Co.
There will be opportunities for Castilleja students to shadow a thoracic surgeon, a Stanford law professor, state Sen. Jackie Speier, and the president of Genentech.
The benefit raises funds to supplement teacher salaries and support student programs and scholarships.
Castilleja is attended by 415 girls in grades 6 through 12. For more information, call Paige McKerral at 328-3160, or go to castilleja.org, and click on "Auction."
