Trolls and a medieval boy may be honored April 13 at the Northern California Book Awards -- oh, and Menlo Park author Nancy Farmer, too.

Ms. Farmer has been nominated in the children's literature category for her book "The Sea of Trolls," a fantasy tale for young adults.

Nominees are divided into five categories, and the contest is judged by the Northern California Book Reviewers, a volunteer group of book reviewers and book review editors.

A three-time Newbery award winner, Ms. Farmer won in the children's literature category in 2003 for her book "The House of the Scorpion."

The 24th annual awards ceremony is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. at the San Francisco Library's main branch at 100 Larkin St. Admission is free. For more information about the awards, call (510) 525-5476.
