Hillview band to perform at San Francisco Giants' game
(March 30, 2005) Hillview Middle School's concert band will perform at SBC Park in San Francisco on Friday, April 8, when the San Francisco Giants face the Colorado Rockies.
Not only with the band perform at 7:15 p.m. and play "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" during the seventh-inning stretch, but student musicians will throw out the first ball, receive signed bats, and announce players during the third inning.
This is the fourth straight year that the Hillview band has performed at SBC Park.
Band boosters can buy tickets for the game and raise funds for the Menlo Park City School District's music program. This new fundraiser is co-sponsored by the Menlo Park-Atherton Education Foundation and the Giants.
Tickets at $24 each may be purchased by going to hillviewmusic.org and clicking on the Giants' page. One-third of the ticket price will go to the foundation to support the district's music program, which involves 2,100 students at Laurel, Encinal, Hillview and Oak Knoll schools.
