This information is from the Atherton and Menlo Park police departments and the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office. Under the law, people charged with offenses are considered innocent until convicted.
Atherton

Theft reports: Two high school students reported their backpacks had been stolen, Menlo-Atherton High School, March 25.

Mail tampering report: A resident reported outgoing mail put in mailbox was missing when postal worker arrived to pick it up, Adam Way, March 25.
Menlo Park

Auto-burglary reports: Property removed from vehicle, 1200 block of Mills Street, March 25. Vehicles reported broken into, 300 block of El Camino Real, March 28. Car stereo stolen, 100 block of Willow Road, March 29.

Burglary reports: Office trailer broken into, 1600 block of Rutgers Avenue, March 28. Someone tried to break into a safe, 700 block of Cambridge Avenue, March 28.

Grand-theft report: Degreaser stolen, 1000 block of O'Brien Drive, March 29.
Woodside

Collision reports: Motorcyclist taken to Stanford Hospital after collision with guardrail, La Honda and Martinez roads, March 10. A vehicle ran a red light, collided with another vehicle and sped away, leaving rear bumper and license plate at scene, Woodside Road and Interstate 280, March 21.

Fraud report: Ex-spouse attempted to deposit a check for which spouse had stopped payment, 2900 block of Woodside Road, March 16.

Burglary report: Rodolfo A. Herrera, 25, of Menlo Park, was arrested on charges of burglary, Canada College, March 24.

Dog-bite report: Resident working on driveway bitten on leg by one of three dogs loose on the street, 200 block of Highland Terrace, March 29.
Portola Valley

Fraud report: Resident sold item in online auction, buyer paid via online agent, resident sent item, but payment to online agent was canceled, 300 block of Portola Road, March 22.
