Thanks, students, for correcting the 'score' Thanks, students, for correcting the 'score' (April 27, 2005)

Here's the corrected and complete line-up for the Hillview Band's performance April 8 at SBC Park in San Francisco that was reported in the Almanac caption in the April 20 issue.

Hillview's Jazz Band did a pre-game gig at Willie Mays Plaza. The 80-piece concert band performed "The Stars Spangle Banner" during the opening ceremony. Hillview tenor sax player Matt Fitzgerald did throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

Members of Hillview's "Fiddle Club" -- Tamara Hasoon and Chelsea Kendall -- played the traditional "Take Me Out to the Ball Game" during the seventh-inning stretch. Their tuneful string duet was enjoyed by all via the microphone and loud-speaker system. The girls' playing was shown live on the stadium's Jumbotron, said Richard Vaughan, Hillview's music director.

Some 720 Hillview students and parents bought tickets for the game at Giants' stadium, and Hilllview's "Family Night" raised $4,000 for the school's music program.

Missed the event? Don't fret. Hillview's band will return next year to perform at another Giants' game at SBC Park.
