'Life was a cabaret' at Woodside High fashion show 'Life was a cabaret' at Woodside High fashion show (May 11, 2005)

"Cabaret Cats" showed their stuff on the runway April 9 at the Woodside High School Athletic Booster Club's 15th annual fashion show and luncheon in the school's multi-use room. There was also a 5 p.m. show with dessert.

Woodside High seniors, parents, and faculty modeled fashions from 18 stores. Clothing for faculty models was provided by Talbot's of Stanford Shopping Center. Ten athletic coaches modeled Booster wear, including T-shirts, sweat pants and jackets.

"We think we raised close to $12,000," says show chairman Diane Carr.

Dana Cappiello was the show's producer and Karen Peterson and Bryan Murphy served as masters of ceremony.

Jim Constantz is president of the Boosters' Club, which raises money to support the needs of the school's athletic program, supplying funds for buses, uniforms, a trainer, green fees, safety gear and other sporting equipment.

One of the most popular items at the benefit's silent auction was reserved parking and seats for Woodside Wildcats' home football and basketball games.

To date this year, the Boosters Club has donated $5,000 to girls' basketball, $7,000 to the lacrosse program, $6,000 to baseball, $6,500 for the trainer, $1,800 for golf, $3,000 to boys' soccer, $1,800 to girls' soccer, and $500 to wrestling.
