Menlo Park program features literary morsels
(August 03, 2005) If you like to read as much as you like to eat and drink, Al Jacobs' got a presentation for you.
The Menlo College professor emeritus will present a reading and talk, "From Soup to Nuts: Food and Drink in Literature," at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 6, at Little House Activity Center, 800 Middle Ave. in Menlo Park.
Professor Jacobs says his talk will touch upon writers ranging from English masters Virginia Woolf and Charles Dickens to the thoroughly American man's man Ernest Hemingway -- and beyond.
A familiar face at the Menlo Park Library, Mr. Jacobs has presented a variety of literary and film programs there for some 30 years.
The presentation is sponsored by the Menlo Park Library and Little House. There is no admission charge.
Free van service to the event is available for Menlo Park seniors and people with disabilities. For more information or to schedule transportation, call 330-2512 or contact Outreach Librarian Roberta Roth at roth@plsinfo.org.
