Menlo Park home robbed
(August 03, 2005) Two men invaded a Menlo Park home Monday afternoon, July 25, and after tying up the resident, fled with computers, cash and credit cards.
The thieves entered a house in the 1000 block of Ringwood Avenue through an open rear window after waiting for a resident to leave, unaware that someone else was still at home and asleep in a bedroom, said Officer Jeff Keegan of the Menlo Park Police Department.
Police said the thieves ransacked one room and the noise awoke the sleeping resident. The intruders confronted the resident and told him to lie face down on the bed while his hands were tied from behind with a cord.
The thieves then demanded that the resident tell them where the money was. The resident was cooperative and no one was injured in the incident, police said.
Police are looking for two Hispanic men in their late teens or early 20s. One man is described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall, and wearing a white T-shirt and dark pants at the time of the robbery. The other suspect is 5 feet, 4 inches tall; he was wearing a khaki shirt and dark pants.
The men may have been seen in the area of Ringwood Avenue and Van Buren Road. Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 330-6300.
