Menlo Chorus concert benefits Katrina relief Menlo Chorus concert benefits Katrina relief (September 28, 2005)

The Menlo School Chorus, under the direction of Linda Jordan, will give a mini-concert at 3:15 p.m. Monday, October 3, to benefit Katrina Hurricane relief in New Orleans.

Mrs. Jordan is a native of Shreveport, Louisiana, and her son John is a graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans.

The chorus will sing Southern and other American songs in the New Orleans Jazz funeral tradition of mourning, followed by hope and faith in the future.

The chorus is made up of three choral groups: the Knights and Knightingales, a mixed chorus; the Lorelei, a girls' chorus; and the Merry Men, a men's chorus.

The concert takes place on the outdoor quad of the school at 50 Valparaiso Ave. in Atherton. A minimum donation of $5 per person is requested.
