Rotary Club raises funds for Guatemala relief
(October 19, 2005) The Rotary Club of Woodside/Portola Valley is raising funds to buy medical supplies for those who have lost their homes, friends, family and possessions in the recent Guatemala mudslides.
A Rotarian physician will fly to Guatemala and deliver the medications directly to people working with those left homeless, says Joan Fuetsch, president of the club.
Rotarians in Guatemala were first-responders and have spent much of their time sorting and packing relief supplies and using their four-wheel drive vehicles to drive supplies to the affected areas, says Ms. Fuetsch.
Tax-deductible donations in any amount to pay for the medications can be sent to: Rotary Club of Woodside/PV Foundation, P.O. Box #620700, Woodside, CA 94062.
All funds raised will go toward the purchase of supplies to assist the people of Guatemala, Ms. Fuetsch says.
More information is on the club's Web site (wpvrotary.org); or by calling Ms. Fuetsch at 483-0432; or by sending an e-mail to: wpvrotary@yahoo.com.
