The Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District wants to get on better with its neighbors. And since it manages 50,000 acres of open space in four counties, it has a lot of people next door it wants to hear from.

To help build relationships with these neighbors and improve its "Good Neighbor Policy," the district will hold four public meetings over the next month. Two meetings will be on the Coastside, which just joined the district last year; one will be on Skyline; and one in Los Gatos.

The meetings are set for 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in:

** Pescadero, Tuesday, November 1, at the La Honda-Pescadero Unified School District, 620 North St.

** Skyline, on Thursday, November 3, at thee open space district's Skyline Field Office, 21150 Skyline Blvd.

** Half Moon Bay, Thursday, November 17, at the Ted Adcock Community Center, 535 Kelly Ave.

** Los Gatos, Thursday, December 1, at the Neighborhood Center, 110 East Main St.

The district's Good Neighbor Policy, which governs how it interacts with neighbors, was last amended in 1996, before it annexed 220 square miles of the San Mateo County Coastside, from Ano Nuevo to the southern boundary of Pacifica.

The amended policy will address neighbors' concerns, ranging from privacy and parking, to trespassing and resource management issues, such as control of invasive species.
