(November 09, 2005) Recent demographic information about growing enrollment in the Menlo Park City School District and the challenges ahead will be presented at a series of meetings now through mid-December.
Superintendent Ken Ranella and school board members want to present the information to school and community groups and receive input regarding enrollment projections, possible grade configurations and sizes of the schools, and preliminary architectural concepts.
A community meeting is scheduled for Thursday, December 8, at 7 p.m. in the Hillview Middle School library at 1100 Elder Ave. in Menlo Park.
Faculty meetings will be held Wednesday, November 9, at Hillview; November 16 at Oak Knoll; November 30 at Encinal; and December 7 at Laurel.
Meetings with the school PTOs are set for Thursday, November 10, at Hillview and Wednesday, December 7, at Oak Knoll. The dates for similar meetings with the Laurel and Encinal PTOs will be announced.
Superintendent Ranella said a summary of these meetings and community perspectives will be presented at the Menlo Park school board meeting on Wednesday, December 14, starting at 7 p.m. in the district office at 181 Encinal Ave. in Atherton.
