Schools: Woodside board reviews remodel plan
(November 09, 2005) Conceptual plans and schematic drawings of the proposed campus modernization project for Woodside Elementary School are on the agenda for the school board meeting on Thursday, November 10, at 4 p.m. in the school library at 3195 Woodside Road in Woodside.
The project is contingent upon the passage of Measure D, a $12 million bond measure put forward by the Woodside Elementary School District in the November 8 election.
The presentation before the Board of Trustees will be by representatives of CJW Architecture of Portola Valley.
Holiday Boutique at Woodside High
A December 1 Holiday Boutique, sponsored by Woodside High School's senior class parents, offers a chance to get an early start on holiday shopping, support local artists and vendors, and help raise funds for the Class of 2006's "safe and sober" grad night.
Offerings include everything from art to glasswork, holiday cards, handmade knits, purses, jewelry, mosaics, centerpieces -- even photos with Santa.
Refreshments and goodies-to-go will be offered. Admission is $2 and goes directly to the class fund. The boutique is in the multi-use room at Woodside High School, 199 Churchill Ave., from 3 to 9 p.m.
Talk by member of Little Rock Nine
Terrence Roberts, who in 1957 was one of the first African American students to go to a formerly segregated public high school in Little Rock, Arkansas, will talk about "Lessons from Little Rock" on Tuesday, November 15 at Canada College in Woodside.
The talk, free and open to the public, will start at 11:10 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, in the college's Main Theater at 4200 Farm Hill Blvd. in Woodside.
Dr. Roberts is now a desegregation consultant for Little Rock and other school districts. For information, call Kathy Sammut, the Title V coordinator at Canada College, at 306-3447.
