Students, parents and community members are gearing up for Ormondale School's first "Turkey Trot" on Saturday, November 19, at the Portola Valley K-3 school.

The events, planned for all ages, include a 1K fun run/walk around Shawnee Pass at 10 a.m., the 5K/l0K run around Portola Valley that starts at 8:30 a.m., and the Ormondale Olympics from 9 to 10 a.m. on the school field.

There will be a "Tots 4 and under Run," obstacle course, relays, face painting, games and refreshments.

All kids will have a chance to win a ribbon and other prizes. The awards ceremony is at 10:30 a.m. The winning entry in the Turkey Trot art contest will be announced, and the event's T-shirts will be on sale.

To register, pay a $15 fee and sign up at the Ormondale school office, 200 Shawnee Pass in Portola Valley, or on site at race day.
