The Portola Valley Town Council is not meeting on the evening of Wednesday, November 23, as reported in the November 16 issue of the Almanac. That meeting was canceled; the council met Monday, November 21. The Almanac regrets the error.
Atherton sets emergency training event

The Atherton City Council set Saturday, January 21, 2006, as the date for a town-wide emergency training session.

Atherton police Sgt. Eric Grimm is organizing the event, which will be open to anyone interested in preparing for the aftermath of a major earthquake or other disaster.

The training event is to be held from 9 a.m. to noon in the Pavilion at Holbrook-Palmer Park, 150 Watkins Ave.
