Voters in the Ravenswood City School District, which encompasses parts of Menlo Park and East Palo Alto, overwhelmingly approved Measure M, extending the current $98 annual parcel tax in the district by five years, to June 2014.
With all precincts counted, the vote at Tuesday's election is 2,163 (78.3 percent) for the measure and 598 (21.7 percent) against it.
For passage, two-thirds voter approval was required.
There are votes still to be counted, including mail-in ballots dropped off at the polls, but these are not expected to change the result.
The money will be used to improve reading, writing, math and science instruction by paying for staff and special programs, according to the ballot statement.
