MP to test system for emergency notification

Menlo Park plans to test its new emergency notification system on Thursday, Feb. 28. Residents and businesses should expect a pre-recorded phone call at approximately 10 a.m.

The system has a database of home and business phone numbers, but if people want to register a specific number, such as a cell phone or direct office line, they can do so by going to MenloPark.org, clicking on "Emergencies" and signing up. The system can also send text messages to cell phones.
