With rain in the forecast for Saturday, Dec. 1, the annual holiday fair in Portola Valley this year will take place at the Performing Arts Center at Woodside Priory School at 302 Portola Road from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The usual venue for the fair is the Historic Schoolhouse.
The fair will have for sale handmade works from local craftspeople and artisans, including sculptures in bronze; jewelry; items made of wood, of yarn, of glass and of metal; ornaments; children's clothing; soaps; greeting cards, teddy bears, handbags and mosaics, according to the Cultural Arts Committee.
Refreshments will be courtesy of a troop of fifth-grade Junior Girl Scouts and Corte Madera Middle School students raising money for their eighth-grade trip to Washington, D.C.
Honey from local bees will be available for purchase, and Santa Claus may drop by.
Part of the profits go to the art and music programs at Portola Valley schools, and to the Portola Valley Open Space Acquisition Fund. For further details, send an email to email@example.com.
In a related event on the same day, another holiday fair is taking place a few miles away at the Ladera Country Shopper at 3130 Alpine Road in Ladera from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
