A man was struck and killed by a northbound train at Charleston Road in Palo Alto at about 6:50 a.m. this morning, a Caltrain spokesperson said.
Caltrain's Christine Dunn identified him only as an adult male.
Caltrain commuters should expect major delays, she said.
Caltrain will not set up a bus bridge and trains are now operating in both directions, she said. Trains will be stopping at all stations in the area to accommodate riders.
The man was the fifth person killed on the Caltrain tracks this year.
