To pave or not to pave? Many residents of the Allied Arts neighborhood answer "not," but during tonight's Menlo Park council meeting, the city will examine requiring sidewalk installation for some home renovations.
The study session will take a look at whether homeowners should be expected to pay for new sidewalks, at an estimated $15 per square foot, and what to do about neighborhoods such as Allied Arts, which oppose the installations.
Tonight's meeting starts at 5:30 p.m. with closed sessions on high-speed rail litigation and police union contract negotiations.
The regular meeting, also held in the council chambers at the Civic Center at 701 Laurel St., will begin around 7 p.m. Click here to review the agenda and associated staff reports.
