Katherine Strehl, Menlo Park's newest member of the Planning Commission, barely had time to catch her breath before attending her first meeting in that official capacity.
The City Council appointed Ms. Strehl on April 30, less than a week before her first Planning Commission meeting on May 6. She replaces termed-out commissioner Jack O'Malley.
Previously serving on the Transportation Commission, Ms. Strehl owns KS Public Affairs Consulting, which handles public relations for the California High-Speed Rail Authority. She has also served as communications manager for BART.
Her term on the Planning Commission runs through April 30, 2017.
