The Junior League of Palo Alto/Mid Peninsula will hold three open houses in Menlo Park this summer for prospective members. Membership is open to all women over 21 who are interested in community service.
Open houses will be held in the league's main office at the Latham-Hopkins Gatehouse, 555 Ravenswood Ave. in Menlo Park, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. on two Wednesdays: July 17 and Aug. 21. A third open house will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24.

The league provides direct funding to support community projects, grants and services, and contributes an estimated 35,000 volunteer hours to the community each year, said league spokesperson Stefanie Vartabedian.
