Following labor negotiations in closed session tonight, the Menlo Park City Council will get an update on state legislation, including high-speed rail issues, from State Sen. Jerry Hill (D-San Mateo).

Other items on the agenda: The council will discuss whether to seek proposals to look at possible reconfigurations of El Camino Real by adding a bike or through lane on El Camino Real between Sand Hill Road and Encinal Avenue and a right-turn lane on northbound Ravenswood Avenue. It will also consider whether to form a small business commission.

The regular council meeting starts at 7 p.m. in the council chambers at the Civic Center at 701 Laurel St. Go to the city’s website to review the entire agenda and associated staff reports.
