The homeless services nonprofit InnVision Shelter Network is launching a "Landlord Leaders" program designed to connect landlords with "hardworking individuals seeking housing and self-sufficiency," says Jamie Henderson of InnVision.
The organization will hold a Landlord Leader Brunch on Tuesday, Nov. 5, in Menlo Park. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 181 Constitution Drive. (The program starts at 11:30 a.m.)
"The average cost for a one-bedroom apartment is around $2,000," Mr. Henderson says. "For families who make $8 an hour, you would have to work four full-time jobs to afford that rent."
In addition to donations and volunteers, he says, InnVision Shelter Network needs landlord partners to directly help its clients working to regain housing.
