Flag-raising signals start of Portola Valley 50th anniversary party

Portola Valley's new 50th anniversary flag was raised during a ceremony Thursday at the Historic Schoolhouse at Town Center.

The event signaled the start of a year-long celebration of the town's incorporation 50 years ago.

Danna Breen and Cindie White, co-chairs of the anniversary activities, raised the flag.
