Woodside: Fallen tree cleared from Hwy. 84

Twelve hours after a tree fell and blocked traffic on state Highway 84 near Highway 35 in Woodside early Monday morning, the roadway has been cleared, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The downed tree was reported around 3:30 a.m. on Highway 84 just east of Highway 35, also known as Skyline Boulevard. Motorists were advised to use alternate routes.

Eventually, one lane was reopened this afternoon and cars were able to pass through, according to the CHP.

A Sig-alert that was issued for the area Monday morning was canceled at 3:44 p.m. when the roadway was completely cleared. The tree has been chopped up and removed, according to the CHP.

This report makes it sound like both Hwy 35 and Hwy 84 were closed. The report from the Sheriff's office (which I find to be more believable) is that only Hwy 84 was closed (between hwy 35 and Woodside).

The Sheriff's office reported that Hwy 84 reopened at 4:36pm: Web Link
